Organic
Organic wines are produced from vineyards that are, unsurprisingly, farmed organically. There are a lot of factors to consider in organic winemaking, but in a nutshell, organic wines are grown from vines that haven’t been treated with chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Wines that have organic certification (usually a little green leaf on the back label) indicate that a producer works with respect to the natural environment. However, organic certification can be very expensive. Not all winemakers can afford organic certification, despite working organically in their vineyards. We have also devised a selection of producers working with non-organic certifications that can be found here. Organic wines are good for drinking, sharing, and good for the planet too!
