Celler Pardas is part of the new generation of producers in Catalonia, focussing on local grapes such as Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Sumoll, always working with nature and not against it. These wines are of incredible quality and unlike anything else you will taste, from a resolutely quality-focused producer, and perfect for this spring weather.

The project began in 1996 when local winegrowers Ramón Parera and Jordi Arnan bought the Can Comas estate high in the Penedés. It was a labour of love, taking until the 2004 vintage for their wines to be really ready for the public to enjoy too. We think it was well worth waiting for such authentic and delicious wines which shout about their origin.

César Márquez isthemaster of Mencia! His wines are characterful, expressive and elegant. He tell stories of terroir and fruit rather than process with a light-touch inthewinery, allowing us to get to know each site through his wines. Cesar has deep roots in the Bierzo region, coming from the family widely known as the most revered winemakers in Bierzo. The pressure that comes with this lineage is great, and Cesar has not only lived up to his family reputation but carved his own path making wine under his own name. His winemaking journey has taken him from the family wineries of his uncle, Raul Perez, to Mendoza where he worked with the Michelini brothers before launching his own project in 2015.

Mark is over here in Australia changing everything we know about Grenache, making two beautifully different wines from two wildly different sites. Having fallen in love with Grenache in the Southern Rhone, Mark has come home to Australia to show us why we should too. He saw first-hand the powerful, rich, high-alcohol Grenache made in the Southern Rhone and was inspired to run in the opposite direction. His approach results in definition and precision. Mark works with two vineyards and his wines celebrate the contrasting personalities of these sites while maintaining his fingerprint.
