Celler Pardas is part of the new generation of producers in Catalonia, focussing on local grapes such as Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Sumoll, always working with nature and not against it. These wines are of incredible quality and unlike anything else you will taste, from a resolutely quality-focused producer, and perfect for this spring weather.

The project began in 1996 when local winegrowers Ramón Parera and Jordi Arnan bought the Can Comas estate high in the Penedés. This stunning, medieval farmhouse was surrounded by 60 hectares of forest, pasture and shrubland, cut through by the Bitlles River. This special little pocket of landscape instantly jumped out at them, and they set to work clearing the area and planting vines. It was a labour of love, taking until the 2004 vintage for their wines to be really ready for the public to enjoy too. We think it was well worth waiting for such authentic and delicious wines which shout about their origin.

Mark is over here in Australia changing everything we know about Grenache, making two beautifully different wines from two wildly different sites. Having fallen in love with Grenache in the Southern Rhone, Mark has come home to Australia to show us why we should too. He saw first-hand the powerful, rich, high-alcohol Grenache made in the Southern Rhone and was inspired to run in the opposite direction. His approach results in definition and precision. Mark works with two vineyards and his wines celebrate the contrasting personalities of these sites while maintaining his fingerprint.

We have a very exciting little pile of some of our favourite Pinot Noir squirreled away in our cellar, that we're making available to you by the bottle.
Amélie is farming mostly in Fixin with a real focus on red wines. She has an incredible ability to read the vintage, read her fruit, and understand how to tell its story. I have never tasted Fixin like this. Even in the trickiest of vintages, she manages to present wines that balance structure, finesse and energy, reinvigorating love and excitement for a part of Burgundy I daresay gets a little less than most. Maybe Jason Haynes says it best: “...whilst many good producers have vines in Fixin, the village has never had a ‘poster boy’ on whom to hang its hat, in the same way as other villages. Until now that is…”.
