An old vine blend of Petit Manseng, Petit Courbu & Camarelet. A brilliant alternative to white Burgundy, for those who like rich and weighty whites that retain minerality and freshness.
Jean-Bernard is the third generation of the Larrieu family to run this estate. For many years the land was given over to mixed farming - livestock, fruit and grapes for the local wine-growers cooperative. In 1985 Jean-Bernard, recently graduated with a degree in viticulture and oenology, took over and re-planted all the vineyards. With Jean-Bernand tending his vines, vinifying his grapes, ageing, bottling and selling his wines, Clos Lapeyre was born.
Clos Lapeyre is situated in the Jurançon region of southwest France, between Pau and Biarritz, nestling on steep slopes facing the Pyrenees. The dual influence of the Pyrenees and the Atlantic Ocean regulates the temperatures and encourages the gentle maturation of the grapes. JB aims to produce healthy, expressive wines that are the true reflection of the terroir.
