A shapeshifter of a wine, that captures the power and intensity of Côtes du Rhône Syrah with dazzling elegance and finesse. The nose is layered with savoury notes of bacon, dried herbs, and liquorice, against a backdrop of juicy red and black berries. Silky on the palate with supple dark cherries and fine dusty tannins, with savoury hints of black olives and river stones. A stunning wine that will reward the considered taster with time in the glass.

About Domaine Gramenon

Former nurse Michèle Aubèry-Laurent with her husband Philippe, bottled their first vintage of Domaine Gramenon in 1990, in the far northern-eastern stretches of the southern Rhône, in the town of Montbrison-sur-Lez. Philippe was a talented vigneron and loved to push the envelope of French wine regulations. In 1999 he was killed in an accident. Crushed but undaunted Michèle picked up where Philippe left off and over the years she has discovered her own style and has catapulted Domaine Gramenon into the limelight.

Today, she works twenty-six hectares with her son, Maxime François. They employ organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyards and have a hands-off approach stance in the cellars. The domaine bottles an AOC Vinsobres and a myriad of parcels of Côtes-du-Rhône. Wines from Gramenon combine incredibly seductive aromatics and deep, rich concentrations with striking balance, grace and harmony, a clear mark of an intuitive eye for picking at the right time and winemaking skill.
