For our first tasting at The Sourcing Table Hoxton, we’re welcoming Konrad Pixner, the man behind Domaine de l’Accent, to help us christen the new shop with six of his brilliant wines.
An Italian winemaker with a German accent making wine in the south of France? There’s a story here.
Originally from South Tyrol in the Italian Dolomites, Konrad’s route to the Terrasses du Larzac took him through vineyards around the world and a doctorate in oenology, before he established Domaine de l’Accent in 2018. Wherever he went, people commented on his accent. Naming the domaine was the easy bit.
Today, he farms organically among the old vines, rocky terraces and wild scrubland of the Larzac. Grapes are picked by hand and fermented with native yeasts, with each parcel kept separate to understand what makes it tick. The resulting wines are full of character, refreshingly varied and offer seriously good value.
Konrad will guide us through six wines, sharing the stories behind the bottles and his adopted corner of the Languedoc, with nibbles to keep us going throughout.
