This is a light Pinot Noir brimming with elegance thanks to gentle cap handling and hand destemming of berries. Fine tannins and a savoury edge run beneath armfuls of bright fresh blueberries, strawberries and raspberries.

Having been a travelling winemaker all over the world, this wine is particularly influenced by time with Jean-Baptiste and Florien at Les Bottes Rouges in the Jura. The wine is a labour of love, inspired by The High Priestess; the archetype of the divine feminine.

About Ashleigh Barrowman

Ashleigh Barrowman is one of a few small producers who are taking on the monster that is Marlborough, and changing everything we know about the wine produced there.

Ashleigh has played the travelling winemaker, most notably in Burgundy, under Jean-Jacques Morel, and in Jura under both Jean-Baptiste Menigoz and Florien Kleine Snuverink at Les Bottes Rouges, and Charline, Julien and Romain Labet at Domaine Labet.

Finally, in 2019 when the world stopped, she found a little nook of Wrekin vineyard that was perfect for her own winemaking story. Here, she is growing Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir, making clever, refined wines that are living, and full of soul. Select your tarot card; the Queen of Cups, the Queen of Swords or the High Priestess.
