This is Grenache with just one night’s skin contact, so the colour is a pure pale cherry red and there is just enough tannin to bring a tickle of grip to this light wine. The fruit is pure and juicy, led by macerated strawberries, cherries and redcurrants. Pop this in the fridge for twenty minutes and you have red wine at its most refreshing. This would do as well with a picnic of roast chicken sandwiches as it would with a seared tuna steak.

About Domaine de l'Accent

Konrad Pixner’s wines are a range of wines from the South of France that are blowing us away with their value. These wines are refreshingly varied, and each illustrate a different facet of the Terrasses du Larzac while holding Konrad’s fingerprint.

Konrad is farming completely organically and trusting nature to do what it does best. Hand-harvesting and fermentation with native yeast are standard and an obvious choice to Konrad. His philosophy is summed up best in his own words: “…it is in the vines that my wines are made.”

Konrad Pixner is making wine down in the Terrasses du Larzac but that’s not where his story begins. Konrad is from a little spot in the north of Italy, in the Dolomites, called South Tyrol where they have a unique collision of cultures and he grew up in Italian vineyards speaking German. From here, Konrad went on to live all over the world while he studied for his PhD (you don’t have to delve deep into Google before you stumble upon his scientific papers). No matter where he landed, people would comment on his accent, so when he finally found the perfect spot to make wine, it had to be Domaine de l’Accent.
