This pithy Riesling is generous and drinkable while maturation in large, neutral oak has lent texture. Fine acidity and sure extraction with bright defined lime and grapefruit citrus zest. These grapes come from sprawling wide-open sites known for their strong sandstone and loam soil which is felt in the long mineral finish.

Notably floral aroma. A hint of hazelnuts on the extremely salivatory palate. Juicy and pure. Lots of fun though some may find the wine tastes just very slightly too sweet to serve with some foods. It would be a lovely aperitif though. It even tastes as though it contained a tiny touch of Alsace-like Muscat. (JR)

About Seckinger

“Our goal every year is to bottle this terroir without altering it”

Given this goal, biodynamics and cultivation by hand felt like obvious choices for the Seckinger brothers. They are pushing boundaries representing Pfalz in the global wine market. This is a winery built on family; three brothers and a support team of people who have been with them since they were in nursery.

Great attention to detail goes into expressing this terroir. Texture and structure are chosen over fruit, and harvests are guided by physical results rather than analytical targets. The results are a new style of German wine, one of experience and responsibility.

When it comes to winemaking, they want to eliminate outside tampering and allow their wines to sing. Fermentation is spontaneous in neutral oak barrels which adds structure without adding flavour. Elimination of outside elements, along with plenty of time in barrel, make the wines naturally stable.
