A remarkably elegant red wine made with Monastrell and Garnacha, two grapes that can be hard to tame. In the capable hands of La Comarcal, however, they come together in a fragrant symphony of blueberry, wild strawberry and violet, with a palate that's feather-light yet bursting with flavour. A joy to drink, especially lightly chilled.
'La Comarcal' is a collaboration between The Sourcing Table favourite Javi Revert and his good friend Victor Marqués, two of the finest winemakers in Mediterranean Spain.
The project is rooted in a deep love of the Valencian landscape, an area that has abundant untapped potential for winemaking. Javi and Victor are both locals o the area, and together they are uncovering amazing vineyard sites and varieties that have been long overlooked. 'La Comarcal' (which translates to 'The District') takes a h approach - fermenting with natural yeasts and ageing in neutral vessels - to ensure that the unique fruit shines through.
