A fantastic expression of Rhone Viognier from a parcel found just outside the limits of the Condrieu appellation, which has really blossomed in potential as vintages have become warmer and the terroir has evolved.
This really is Condrieu in every way but name (and thankfully, also price!), packed full of ripe stone fruits and florals, alongside some lightly tropical notes of pineapple and lychee. What we especially love about this wine, is how fresh and vibrant it is - a rare and wonderful thing with Viognier. We have been hooked from first sip and you will be too.

François Merlin is first and foremost a farmer, having learnt about the complexities of viticulture and grape growing under Domaine René Rostaing, one of the great names in Cote Rotie. Whilst studying agriculture, François planted his first St-Joseph vines in 1989 and has since developed a well-earned reputation as one of the Rhone's leading grape growers turned producers.
It's incredible to think that François is self-taught in the realm of winemaking. His wines are precise, yet full of energy, and his attention to detail is second to none. Everything is considered during his process, with no corners cut, and the results really do speak for themselves.
