This is the Champagne project of famed Burgundian producer Olivier Leflaive, and it's of no surprise that the Le Mesnil Sur Oger '16 50' more than equals the quality we have come to expect from the Leflaive name. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this Blanc des Blanc hails from the village of Le Mesnil Sur Oger which is undisputed in its ability to produce Champagne's greatest Chardonnay. With the likes of Salon and Krug Clos de Mesnil as neighbouring vines, this example from Champagne Valentin Leflaive is in extremely good company. Considering these also retail for at least 15 times the price to boot, there is also a lot of value to be enjoyed in this excellent new Champagne house. 

This is a stunning Champagne with abundant texture, and delicious notes of brioche, toasted nuts, lime and sea salt. The code '16 50' also refers to the base vintage and dosage, in this case 2016 and 5.0g/l.
