Paul Gadenne
Paul Gadenne fell in love with wine 10 years ago, when he and his father moved to Chignin in the Savoie. Based in the foothills of the Bauges mountains, all his friends in the village came from winemaking families and so Paul began to help in their vineyards during school holidays. This ultimately inspired him to study winemaking in Burgundy, before returning to the Savoie to apply this knowledge to the region he calls home.
Paul works with small parcels of exceptional vines in Chignin, focusing on local varieties Mondeuse, Jacquère and Bergeron - which is more commonly known as Roussanne. He farms organically across these parcels, with some being certified, and always aims to use as little human intervention as possible. His ethos is to work with nature, not against it, and find a pure expression of the local terroir. This is a very young project and winemaker and we’re looking forward to seeing how they develop.
