L'Enclos de Peralba

L'Enclos de Peralba

L'Enclos de Peralba is a young project with massive ambitions. It was founded in 2017 by cousins Leo and Roc Gramona, whose family have owned and run the famed Cava house 'Gramona' for generations. Despite their roots in this historical sparkling wine, Leo and Roc envision a very different future for the Penedès region.

Penedès is a large region, with a rich patchwork of different soils, grape varieties and vineyards all capable of producing remarkable wines. Historically it has been home to Cava production, but younger winemakers are increasingly tapping into its potential outside the realm of sparkling wine. Leo and Roc work with some of their own family vineyards, and experienced local farmers who share their desire to work organically and biodynamically.

The project is named after the stony white calcareous soils of the Sant Sadurní hills in Alt Penedès, where the winery is located. Most of their wines centre on a single variety or vineyard, with the aim of expressing the “distinctive flavour of their landscape”. It is such a pleasure to see such talented winemakers taking a keen interest in Penedès and its wealth of unique terroirs. We have been consistently impressed by these brilliant wines, and are excited to see where this project leads!
