Alice’s journey as a winemaker began in a vineyard that she leases and farms in Los Olivios District AVA, California. The French and Spanish vines are old and the soil is tired after half a century hard at work so it makes sense to invest in regenerative farming and the life of the soil. They want native species living in harmony with vines from Europe.

Alice began her journey studying in California. Having spent time really learning to make wine in New Zealand and the Rhone Valley, she has come home to her own project focussing on the varieties she met in Europe. She enjoys the resilience that Southern French and Spanish varieties have against the heat because means she can be more hands-off. Less spraying, less water less environmental impact. Being deeply connected to the land allows her to make wines that are too. And by protecting the land now, she protects the land in the future too.

It’s about soul, life and spirit.
