Apparently, we're huge fans of riesling grown on granite soils, and you soon will be too once you try this wine. Made from 64-year-old vines situated near Turkheim (the home of Zind Humbrecht), this is at first pretty and elegant, showing off a really charming nose of chamomile and lime. Bags of minerality here, but with a complexity and depth that impressively crescendos on the palate. The finish is wonderfully stubborn and will just keep on hanging around.
Jean-Louis, Fabienne and Sébastien are a family of winemakers dedicated to producing exceptional, terroir-driven wines from the picturesque commune of Eguisheim in Alsace.
Domaine Mann is a winery with the ability to distil the terroir of Alsace into each bottle they make. Focus is given to individual parcels within their 13 hectares of biodynamically farmed vineyards; each wine is crafted in such a way that every plot's individual terroir shines through, with some only producing 150 bottles a vintage. Their vintage Crémant is a must-try; it is wonderfully elegant, rich, and complex with Sebastien's experience working at renowned Grower Champagne producer Vouette et Sorbée clearly evident.
These wines are elegant and alive, displaying thrilling minerality and are truly delicious. If you have previously shied away from Alsace before, these are the perfect way to reacquaint yourself with this diverse region
