A rich, layered wine with bright lemon zest, white peach and yellow apples alongside dried thyme and fennel seed. A richness of salted almonds and toast come through before a long, finish of flint and salt.
This is an iconic white Rioja and for good reason. This is the current release, 10 years have gone into crafting this wine and releasing it when it is only truly ready.
For 145 years, López de Heredia has remained one of Rioja's most important, and sought-after producers. They own all 170 hectares of the vines they farm, some up to 100 years in age, and have been working without chemical intervention for generations. The sustainability practices being prioritised today by younger producers have been the bedrock of López de Heredia's production from day one.
Perhaps the most unique quality of these wines, which is also key to their great demand, is how long they're aged before release. It is a very special experience to enjoy these wines, which are bottled history in themselves.
