Grapes for this wine undergo a very long maceration—without destemming the fruit. Golden straw in the glass with lovely scents of white flowers, tropical fruit and wet stones. The wine is rich and balanced. Perfect if you're looking for a white that has a little more body. The freshness comes from a deep minerality.

Could the perfect accompaniment to this be roasted chicken with pomme puree? Just maybe!

About Herve Souhaut

Hervé and Béatirice began back in 1993. They’re in a prime spot, on the right bank of the Rhone River, right opposite Hermitage Hill. This is where they farm 7 hectares of vines. He is growing varieties we expect to see in the Northern Rhone with Viogner and Roussanne for white, and Syrah and Gamay for black grape varieties. Hervé wants to be as hands-off as he can. The only way he can pull this off, is with real knowledge of the region and of his craft and with real attention to detail. And this begins in the vineyard.

The vines are farmed organically, although he’s never sought certification. The rocky granitic soils he grows on are celebrated in his wines. He looks to an expressive and transparent style, merely supporting the fruit to express terroir.
