Wild peach and orange pith on the nose with a stony, mineral edge. The palate is rich yet crisp, with fresh acidity, tension and a long, saline finish. Classic Burgundy at its most precise, in an exceptional vintage (particularly for white wines). This site is one of the best in Saint Aubin and Alex is farming just a quarter of a hectare here.
The white wines of Alex Moreau stand among the most admired in Chassagne-Montrachet. Dating back to 1809 with great grandfather Auguste Moreau, the winery has passed down the generations and has been in the hands of Alex since 2021. These wines are celebrated for their purity, finesse, and remarkable depth. They balance fresh vibrant fruit with a signature mineral drive and masterful use of oak. This gentle use of oak and meticulous élevage, allow each terroir, from village plots to revered premier crus, to show their character clearly. The result is a range of wines that are at once expressive, precise and effortlessly drinkable, capturing the true essence of modern Chassagne.
