This single-vineyard Pinot Noir is California's answer to Grand Cru Burgundy. It hails from a unique site in Western Sonoma, where vines grow on an ancient sea field (hence the name) peppered with rocks, gravel and fossilised relics of the ancient ocean floor. Just a stone's throw from the Pacific, the 'Sea Field' vineyard lends itself to Raen's most elegant bottling. Incredibly nuanced, with layers of crushed raspberry, violet, dried herb and cranberries, with an intensely earthy finish.
RAEN is the shared vision of two brothers, Carlo and Dante, who were raised in a Californian winemaking dynasty and became captivated by the Gold Coast's terroir from a young age. After all, when your grandfather is the late great Robert Mondavi, it's hard not to be inspired to follow in your families footsteps.
Though their Grandfathers roots were firmly in the Napa Valley, Carlo and Dante are more enamoured by the unique, coastal vineyards of Sonoma. It is here that RAEN produces exceptional single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, in a style that's pure and honest; wines designed to provide a snapshot of the vineyards they hail from.
