Named after the local village that lies beside the Roccamonfina volcano, this is a complex volcanic white with fresh flavours of preserved lemon, wet stone, and lime leaf. A wine with a true sense of place.

About i Cacciagalli

At the foot of the extinct Roccamonfina volcano in northern Campania, I Cacciagalli is a small, family-run estate dedicated to producing wines that express both place and tradition. Founded by agronomist Diana Iannaccone and her husband, former archaeologist turned winemaker, Mario Basco, the estate is farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles, with a deep commitment to biodiversity. The estate spans 42 hectares of farmland: 12 dedicated to grape growing, 30 planted with hazelnut groves, olive trees, and seasonal crops. Beyond these, 50 hectares of unfarmed woodland surrounds the farmhouse, sustaining a balanced ecosystem that nurtures soil vitality and natural resilience.

The focus is on native Campanian varieties such as Fiano, Falanghina, Aglianico, Piedirosso, and Pallagrello Nero, all handled with minimal intervention. Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts, sulphur is used sparingly, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. A distinctive hallmark of the estate is its extensive use of amphorae, which allow the wines to evolve gently while preserving purity and a direct connection to the volcanic soils.

The result is a collection of expressive, artisanal wines that combine depth, freshness, and authenticity - wines that reflect not only Campania’s rich traditions but also the estate’s vision of sustainable agriculture where vineyards thrive as part of a larger, living landscape.
