Saumur-Champigny has a reputation for producing world-class Cabernet Franc, and for good reason. For us, it doesn't get much better than 'Clos De L'Echelier'. This is a serious, complex red that's full-bodied and elegant, with notes of strawberry, black cherry, red bell pepper, gun smoke and a meaty, savoury finish. It is not a wine to drink quickly. Instead, give it time to breathe in a decanter and enjoy it over several hours - it will reward you with amazing evolution in the glass. 

Domaine des Roches Neuves is the brainchild of Thierry Germain, who moved to the Saumur area in the early 1990's. His philosophy is that all great wines must start with great vineyards. Though this is a pretty common attitude these days, it was a novel concept when Thierry first began his winemaking journey. He has been certified Biodynamic since 2005 and has helped start a revolution to improve soil health in the Loire Valley. His wines are revered for their elegance and unique expressions of the local Saumur terroir. Definitely, a producer to discover if you're a fan of this French region and its incredible wines.
