As soon as the sun peaks through from behind a cloud, this is exactly the wine we reach for first. A delicious, moreish rosé that instantly transports you to the shores of the Mediterranean sea; a stone's throw from where Domaine des Lauriers grow their vines in the south of France. The grapes here are picked at night to preserve their freshness and see only a light pressing to maintain its light body.
Domaine des Lauriers, near Pezenas in the Languedoc, stretches over 45 hectares throughout the Mediterranean garrigue. There is a range of soils: from red clay containing large pebbles which reflect the sun and help ripen the grapes; and on the hillsides, you find water holding calcareous clay, so grapes don’t suffer from lack of water even during dry Mediterranean summers.
Their vineyards are close to the coast, and the wines here always have good freshness and balance. We've always admired their sustainable approach, they’re Terra Vitis certified. They are among a small group of Picpoul producers who are making wines that fit well with modern tastes while also being faithful to their appellation
