'Avis de Vin Fort' is made from the Breton's biodynamic vineyards in Bourgueil, and is inspired by their friends in Bordeaux who embrace the 'clairet' style. 'Clairet' is essentially a very dark rosé, or a very light red, depending on your outlook on life. This Loire twist on Bordeaux 'clairet' sits more on the side of light red - in our opinion anyway - and offers a gorgeous, fragrant expression of Cabernet Franc that has delicate tannins yet bags of flavour. Pop it in the fridge and drink it with a nice chill!

About Domaine Catherine & Pierre Breton

Pierre’s family have been winemakers and vineyard owners in this area for four generations. Catherine is from the village of Vouvray, where her family, like Pierre’s, have been farmers and winemakers for four generations. Pierre and Catherine’s philosophy stems from a love of the land. The Bretons farm eleven hectares just east of Bourgueil in the village of Restigné. They produce Chinon and Bourgueil, as well as a bit of Vouvray, creating honest wines for both early consumption and longer ageing.

They first introduced biodynamic practices into their viticulture in 1994, after receiving their organic certification in 1991. They have become international icons for the natural wine movement in an area where the climate and soil can make organic viticulture difficult. Catherine and Pierre are two of the hardest working people we know of in the wine business. This explains why their wines, despite the fact that they are totally natural and unadulterated, are so consistently pure and delicious.
