At The Table with Ochota Barrels

In our Autumn with the Aussies series, next up to visit Peckham for a very special tasting is Amber Ochota, of Ochota Barrels. Please join us in celebrating the bold spirit and beautiful wines from one of Australia’s most distinctive natural wineries.

The Ochota story began in 2000 when Taras and Amber Ochota returned to South Australia after travelling through some of the world’s great wine and surf regions. Inspired by their journey, they set out to craft expressive wines from exceptional vineyard sites. Their focus began with old vine Grenache in McLaren Vale and Syrah in the Barossa Valley, later expanding to include Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills.

Taras was known for his intuitive, low intervention approach to winemaking. As he put it, “We just want to produce something delicious and gorgeous for all of us to enjoy with none of the nasties and more of the love.”

Following Taras’s untimely passing, Amber continues their shared vision with care and commitment. Under her guidance, Ochota Barrels remains a benchmark for thoughtful Australian wine, full of soul and character - this guided tasting from one of Australia's most remarkable producers is not to be missed.
