The 2020 Pinot Noir SLO Coast comes from vines in a proposed new appellation, the San Luis Obispo Coast, which would incorporate vineyards nearer to the coast and currently excluded from other Central Coast appellations. Made with around 40% to 50% whole clusters and aged 11 months in barrel, it has a medium ruby-purple color and generous red fruits: raspberry, pomegranate, red cherries and blood orange with autumnal accents. The palate is lightly chalky and fresh with layers of berries, earth and spice, and it finishes long and juicy.
