The phrase 'U Veciu' translates to 'the old one' in the local dialect of Riomaggiore, where this remarkable wine is made. It is a nod to the ancient tradition of crafting 'white' wines with extended skin contact, resulting in what we'd refer to as 'orange' wine today. Made from the local variety Rossese Bianco, these vines are perched on steep rocky slopes that lead straight into the ocean.

The final wine is macerated on its skins for 80 days, before ageing for 8 months in aromatic acacia barrels, creating a beautiful wine bursting with notes of tangerine, ginger, soft herbs and a salty kick on the finish.
