In Spanish if you say something "tiene buena pinta" it means it looks good or tasty. And this blend of Moravia Agria and Garnacha is exactly that! Moravia Agria, or ‘sour Moravia’, is native to Castilla-La-Mancha. It retains acidity and the sugar levels stay low even when grown in this hot dry area – a perfect complement to lush, fruit-focused Garnacha. The result is an elegant, light-bodied red with sour cherry and dried herbs on the nose. On the palate, the cherry comes through again with earth and a hint of chalky minerality on the finish – amazingly fresh and drinkable.

About Juan Antonio Ponce

Juan Antonio Ponce (pronounced pon-thay) cut his teeth working with Spanish winemaking giant Telmo Rodriguez. He went on to set up his own operation in the region of Manchuela. Ponce wines have become emblematic of a new philosophy in Spanish wine: biodynamically and organically farmed, focused on representation of terroir and heavily influenced by the natural wine movement in France.

His vineyards are at high altitude bringing freshness to the wines. His vines are between 30 and 90 years old, and some of them are still planted on their own root stocks.
