Theresa's 'Estate' Riesling is the perfect gateway into her exceptional range and signature style. Refreshingly dry and fit to bursting with vibrant, zippy lemon, white peach and stunning, stony minerality. This is a seriously good wine that can easily stand shoulder to shoulder with many others at twice the price.
At once generous, yet finely and polished, this is a pretty serious wine for the village-wine category with a lot of depth at the finish, where positive tannins and a slate-like quality add some real complexity.
Winemaking dynamo Theresa Breuer took the reins at her family estate in Rheingau in 2004, aged 18 when her father passed away. The estate was founded in 1880 by Peter Breuer and owns some of the steepest, most prized vineyards in the Rheingau including several Grand Cru. Peter's grandson Bernhard was a true ambassador for Riesling, playing an important role in restoring its respectability in world markets after the lost Liebfraumilch years.
His motto was: "I wish to produce wines that make the specific characteristics of their origin visible". Theresa has continued to build on his legacy improving and innovating and has converted their vineyards to organics. Read our interview with Theresa and her stunning 2019 vintage on the blog
