The 'Lousas Vino de Aldea' hails from a beautiful old vineyard in Ribeira Sacra, which sits at a lofty 600m above sea level and boasts vines averaging 60 years old. Predominantly Mencía blended with a smattering of other local, indigenous varieties. Tiny quantities and exceptional quality, this is a wine marked by extreme purity, lifted aromatics and delicious savouriness. Particularly well suited to gamey dishes, and slow roasted pork.

About Envinate

Envínate (aka wine-yourself) is the brainchild of Laura Ramos, Jose Martínez, Roberto Santana and Alfonso Torrente, four friends who met while studying oenology at the University of Miguel Hernández in Alicante. Their work is currently focused on exploring the ancient, Atlantic-infused terruños of Ribeira Sacra, Canary Islands, Extremadura and Almansa. Their philosophy is simple: let each single parcel fully express itself through old-fashioned farming and wine-making methods.

Right now there are four different projects under the Envínate umbrella: Lousas by Alfonso Torrente in Ribeira Sacra, Táganan by Roberto Santana in Tenerife, T. Amarela in Extremadura and Albahra in Almansa both by Laura Ramos and José Martínez. These are some of The Sourcing Table's most unique and special wines, and some are only made in tiny quantities, so grab them while you can!
