Made entirely from the Gros Manseng grape variety, this wine has a little of the honey and hazelnut character you might associate with the traditionally sweet wines of Jurançon. However, the wine from Clos Lapere is bone dry with crisp green apple and citrus on the palate. The finish is juicy and refreshing, with savoury spice lingering.

About Clos Lapeyre

Jean-Bernard is the third generation of the Larrieu family to run this estate. For many years the land was given over to mixed farming - livestock, fruit and grapes for the local wine-growers cooperative. In 1985 Jean-Bernard, recently graduated with a degree in viticulture and oenology, took over and re-planted all the vineyards. With Jean-Bernand tending his vines, vinifying his grapes, ageing, bottling and selling his wines, Clos Lapeyre was born.

Clos Lapeyre is situated in the Jurançon region of south west France, between Pau and Biarritz, nestling on steep slopes facing the Pyrenees. The dual influence of the Pyrenees  and the Atlantic Ocean regulates the temperatures and encourages gentle maturation of the grapes. JB aims to produce healthy, expressive wines that are the true reflection of the terroir.
