Oh how we love good Burgundy. Yet more and more it has become one of the hardest regions to find value in. Wouldn't it be wonderful to drink excellent Burgundy without breaking the bank?

Enter our latest mixed case, bringing together two 'unsung' wines that we wholeheartedly believe punch well above their weight. The holy grail of the Cote d'Or; incredible value wines that hit every Burgundyloving bone (or beaune?) in the body!

3 x Philippe Colin, Bourgogne Chardonnay, 2018

Domaine Philippe Colin are based at the heart of Chassagne Montrachet, and produce wines that expertly walk the tightrope between lean minerality, and fleshy, creamy structure. Made with the same love and care as their top wines, this is a wine that definitely delivers well beyond its 'Bourgogne' labelling. Bright acidity, green apple and citrus, balanced with toasted nuts and a subtle, creamy finish.

3 x Frédéric Magnien, Cote de Nuits Villages 'Croix-Violette', 2015

Frédéric Magnien is a unique entity in Burgundy, as he in one of few producers using Amphorae to age his wines. This biodynamic Cote de Nuits Villages blew us all away. An excellent, modern expression of Burgundy that gives Gevrey-Chambertin a run for its money. It holds its bottle age perfectly, with notes of black and red plum, silky tannins and a subtle, earthy finish.
