This elegant and versatile sweet wine works brilliantly as an aperitif or with fruit-based desserts. It's made in the traditional asoleo method: grapes are handpicked and dried on mats in the sun to concentrate the juice and the flavours. The resulting wine is fresh and mouthwateringly sweet, a perfect balance of bright acidity and fruit intensity.
Bodegas Bentomiz is making some of the most highly regarded sweet wines in Spain: balanced, fresh, delicious and naturally sweet. Wine enthusiasts Clara Verheij and Andre Both emigrated from Holland in search of a southern Spanish way of life.
They bought a property near Malaga, in a hilly area overlooking the Mediterranean, with some abandoned vineyards which they set about restoring. With great raw materials and terroir - old Moscatel vines, Axarquía slate soils, good altitude and fantastic climate - great wines soon followed.
