Antoine Sanzay is a modern master of Cabernet Franc. For his 'La Paterne' rouge, fruit is sourced from three, organically farmed parcels in Saumur-Champigny. A fragrant and powerful expression, with silky, rich tannins and delicious notes of blackberry, bramble leaf and black pepper spice.

For seven generations, the Sanzay family has farmed vines in Saumur-Champigny. However, it wasn't until Antoine took over in the 1990's that the Sanzay name became associated with winemaking too. Slowly but surely, Antoine began to shift from selling grapes to local cooperatives, and instead carved out his own wine style. His organic, low intervention approach to grape growing has also earned him a reputation as one of Saumur's most talented farmers. Antoine's meticulous, natural approach results in Cabernet Franc expressions that are incredibly elegant and balanced. Undoubtedly some of the greatest Loire wines being made today.
