Bow and Arrow
Scott and Dana Frank, the husband and wife team behind Bow & Arrow, started their urban winery in northeast Portland in 2010, after years of working across in the wine and restaurant industries. The idea was to make wine from the often overlooked grapes - including classic Loire Valley varieties - that had been grown in the state for decades, but overshadowed by a preference for Pinot Noir.
The philosophy here is quite straightforward, founded on conversations with Loire organic trailblazers Didier Barouillet of Clos Roche Blanche, Thierry Puzelat and Marc Ollivier. Bow & Arrow work with farmers who have forward-thinking mentalities when it comes to farming organically and biodynamically, with many of them certified. These carefully sourced grapes are treated with the greatest care and low-touch winemaking techniques. Bow & Arrow has been and is part of the future of Oregon winemaking.
