Bow and Arrow
Scott and Dana Frank, the husband and wife team behind Bow & Arrow, started their urban winery in northeast Portland in 2010, after years of working across the wine and restaurant industries. The idea was to make wine from the often-overlooked grapes - including classic Loire Valley varieties - that had been grown in the state for decades but overshadowed by a preference for Pinot Noir.
The philosophy here is quite straightforward, founded on conversations with Loire organic trailblazers Didier Barouillet of Clos Roche Blanche, Thierry Puzelat and Marc Ollivier. Bow & Arrow work with farmers who have forward-thinking mentalities when it comes to farming organically and biodynamically, with many of them certified. These carefully sourced grapes are treated with the greatest care and low-touch winemaking techniques. Bow & Arrow has been and is part of the future of Oregon winemaking.
